To help boost car sales, Maruti is offering substantial discounts and offers on their ‘micro-SUV’, the S-Presso. Surprisingly, these discounts are meant not for the leftover BSIV cars (of which not many examples are left), but for the new, BSVI-compliant models.

The Maruti S-Presso is currently being offered with a huge cash discount of Rs. 20,000, along with a corporate discount of Rs. 5,000. Apart from that, there is an additional exchange bonus worth Rs. 20,000, which will be added to the value of the car you bring in for exchange. Thus, the maximum benefits you can avail straight-up on the purchase of a new S-Presso is Rs. 45,000. To put that into perspective, consider the fact that the car only costs between Rs. 3.7 lakh (for the base variant) to Rs. 4.99 lakh (the top-trim level). Both prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi.

Under the hood of the Maruti S-Presso is a K10 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is capable of generating a maximum power of 68 PS and a peak torque of 90 Nm. There are two transmission options on offer, a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Fuel efficiency is the biggest USP of the car, and according to ARAI, the car offers a mileage of 21.4 kmpl. For people looking to further reduce fuel costs, there will be a factory-fitted CNG kit on offer as well soon, similar to the one which was offered on the Alto K10. While running on CNG, the power output will drop to 59 PS and the torque to 78 Nm. It will only be offered in the manual transmission version.

Despite being a budget vehicle, the S-Presso offers a lot of features and equipment, like a 7-inch ‘SmartPlay Studio’ touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual front airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioner (front seats), Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, seat belt reminder (front seats), overspeeding alert, door-open warning, and reverse parking sensors.
