Maruti Suzuki will jump ahead of other automakers by introducing the very first BSVI-ready model in India no later than June 2019.

Last year, various reports suggested that Maruti Suzuki will launch the first BSVI-compliant model by early 2020. However, according to a recent report from Indian Autos Blog, India’s largest-selling car manufacturer is contemplating launching its first BSVI models by June this year

Maruti Suzuki will pioneer in releasing BSVI-ready vehicles in India ahead of the deadline.

According to Maruti Suzuki's chairman, Mr. Bhargava, the automotive company currently have a huge product line-up but they confirmed to bring in BSVI-ready versions of some models sooner rather than later. Maruti Suzuki also has a plan to focus more on BSVI petrol models as its diesel counterparts seem not to operate properly on the BSIV diesel. That said, the company will not be introducing diesel cars until the kind of BSVI diesel comes in handy.

Maruti Suzuki is also working on making cars safer for Indian car buyers. The company has started upgrading the safety suites for its existing models. A wide range of advanced safety kits will be available in their models as mandated by law from 1 July 2019 while the equipment like anti-lock braking system (ABS) has been made standard in all vehicles since April 1, 2019.
