Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine Showcased At Auto Expo 2020

Mercedes-Benz has been one of the most successful luxury car-markers in terms of sales volume in India. Mercedes-Benz was also the very first German carmaker to come up with entry-level luxury cars and kickstart new segments with the launch of cars like A-Class and CLA. We are talking of these cars today because once again the manufacturer is coming with an important entry-level luxury car in the form of A-Class Limousine.

Mercedes-Benz has showcased the A-Class Limousine in India and it will be launched soon in the country.

The A-Class Limousine is showcased in India to retrieve feedback from the prospective buyers as the manufacturer has plans to introduce this model in the country. The model showcased here at the expo floors is the long-wheelbase version of A-Class, which is sold in China as well. However, the car showcased in India is the AMG-spec version of the car. With AMG badge proudly sitting on the car’s trunk states that it gets a powerful 2.0L, 4-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine, which is capable enough to produce 306hp and 400Nm as its peak power output. Transmission duties are handled by a 7-speed DCT channelling the power to all 4 of its wheels to reach a tonne from standstill under 4.8 seconds. Internationally, the A-Class saloon also gets a variety of other engines, both petrol and diesel, but is it the 163hp A200 and 116hp A180d, which are expected to make their way to the Indian shores.

With its launch, Mercedes-Benz will be the targeting the likes of BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe and Audi A3.

Once launched, which is expected to happen sometime around late 2020, the MFA-II platform based sedan will carry an expected price tag of around Rs. 32-40 Lakhs. The AMG version showcased at the auto expo will also be launched and will carry a higher price tag than the regular version. The A-Class limousine will compete with the likes of Audi A3 and the upcoming BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe.
