Mercedes-Benz G 350 D Launched At INR 1.5 Crore

There is almost nothing impressive about the exterior and interior features of the Mercedes G 350 dsince most of them are included in the G Class G63 AMG's feature list. Instead, the most remarkable thing about the new vehicle is its diesel motor, which has an impressive driving range and fuel mileage.

The Mercedes G350 d receives its power from the new OM 655 3.0-litre in-line 6-cyl oil burner which can deliver a maximum power of 286 PS  and a peak torque of 600 Nm. This motor is coupled to a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed AT which spreads 40% and 60% of the drive torque to the front and rear axles, respectively. This motor comes with a new transfer case which is directly flange-mounted onto the gearbox.The G 350 d is considered the ‘most efficient G so far’ with a Euro 6d standards-compliant diesel engine. It can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 7.4 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 199 kmph.

The diesel model of the G-Class offers a wide range of top-notch features in terms of both the exterior and interior right from the base variant. On the outside, it is equipped with LED headlamps, chrome louvres and chrome inserts on radiator grille, 18-inch mag wheels, a spare wheel mounted to the rear door and LED taillights. The cabin of the vehicle is also equally impressively-equipped with features like a 12.3-inch all digital instrument console, a 12.3-inch touch-sensitive infotainment unit which supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, satellite navigation, Mercedes me connected features suite, three-zone auto aircon and a driving wheel with touch-sensitive buttons. All of the above features are provided as standard features across all the variants.

Many modification possibilities are offered by the German automaker with a wide array of optional equipment which includes Multibeam LED headlights,  either19-inch or 20-inch alloy rims, massage units for the driver and the front passenger seats, a 64-colour ambient lighting system, etc. The Mercedes G-Class has no direct competitors in the local auto market for the time being; however, come 2020 and the SUV is expected to have a new competitor, the Land Rover Defender.
