Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the new Maruti Ignis BS6b (facelift) all across India. Prices Start At Rs. 4.83 Lakh and go up to Rs. 7.13 Lakh.

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, introduced the new 2020 Ignis facelift during the recently concluded Auto Expo 2020. Now, the car has been silently launched in India at a starting price of Rs 4.83 lakh (ex-showroom).

Compared to the older, BS4-compliant, model, the new version gets a price increase of around Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 25,000, depending upon the trim you choose to look at. The new price list of the BS6 Maruti Ignis facelift is as follows:

The major changes in the facelift model take place under the hood. The engine, although the same 1.2-litre K-series motor as before, has been upgraded to meet the new BS6 emission standards. Maximum power and torque outputs, at 85 PS and 113 Nm, respectively, remain the same. The transmission options also remain the same as before; you can choose between a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

There are some changes to the exterior of the car as well, as suggested by the ‘facelift’ tag. These changes are, however, quite minor. The front grille is redesigned and features shark-teeth like elements, just like on the S-Presso. You also get a new front bumper, a faux skid-plate at the front and the rear, blacked-out B-pillars, roof rails, a roof-mounted spoiler, and new foglamp housings. The alloy wheels design remains the same, as does the taillight design. Dubbed “Urban SUV” by Maruti, this car has a Crossover-hatchback appeal in its overall design. On the inside, there are absolutely no changes. The only change here is the upgrade to Suzuki’s latest SmartPlay infotainment system paired with a 7-inch touchscreen.

The car is on sale at NEXA outlets, which are Maruti’s premium car dealerships. Bookings had already commenced on 7th February. In a similar news, Maruti is all set to launch the BS6-compliant Brezza in India on 15th February. The Brezza will be now available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is the same one as that on the Ciaz, Ertiga, and XL6.
