The next-gen Nissan Z car is nearing its launch, and these leaked pictures reveal how it would look like. Likely to be named the 400Z, its design continues the lineage of the Nissan 2-door coupe.
Nissan last year unveiled the Z Proto, which was a near-production form concept of the next Z car. Recently, pictures of the production-ready version of the next Z-car have surfaced over the internet. The production model looks very similar to the Z Proto, but with a few noticeable differences in a few places. The new coupe will likely be named the 400Z when it eventually goes on sale. Let’s take a look at the changes between the Z Proto concept and the production model.
Looking at the pictures, this particular production-version of the next Nissan Z car gets a shade of dark grey while the Proto Z was showcased in bright yellow. The front-end gets a sharp nose with a wide air intake, while the bumper features sharp lines and an incorporated splitter. The low slung bonnet gets sharp creases which give it a pentagonal power dome in the middle. The next Z car will also sport the new Nissan logo which is concealed here. The headlights are very similar to the Z Proto concept.
The side profile of the next Nissan Z car has the quintessential Nissan 2-door coupe proportions, a long bonnet, raked windscreen, and a sloping roofline. The vehicle in the pictures also gets a set of fetching black alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, there’s a noticeable lip spoiler while the taillights feature a retro theme with the use of piano black inserts. The bumper houses a splitter which is flanked by exhausts on either side of it.
The interior of the next Nissan Z car gets a thorough overhaul and is entirely brand-new. It gets a multi-function steering wheel while there’s a fully digital instrument cluster. The centre-console gets a new LCD touchscreen infotainment unit which will likely come with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As a homage to the older Z cars, the new car comes with three analogue dials on top of the dashboard. This particular model is an automatic and gets steering-mounted paddle shifters. The Next Nissan Z car is expected to hit showroom floors by the end of 2021, with prices comparative to the other Japanese 2-door coupe, the Toyota Supra. The Nissan will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 petrol which will be mated to a 6-speed manual, while an automatic will be available as an option.
