In the beginning, to attract customers, Nissan has offered the new model at an appealing price that undercuts most vehicles in the same segment. Priced from only Rs 4.99 lakh, Nissan Magnite has managed to receive 50,000 inquiries since launch.

In terms of features, the Nissan Magnite derives power either from a 1.0-litre aspirated petrol engine or a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. The former is capable of making 72 BHP of top power and paired to a manual gearbox. On the other hands, the turbocharged engine can put out 100 BHP of maximum power and 150 Nm of peak torque. This engine is claimed to be the first one in the market to adopt the “mirror bore cylinder coating” technology which is used on the sports car Nissan GT-R. By limiting the resistance inside the engine, the Nissan GT-R can deliver higher fuel efficiency and better acceleration.

Nissan Magnite is now competing in the same place with Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra XUV300.
