Tata Motors has become the third best selling car manufacturer in the Indian market last month with 23,617 units sold.
Last month, Tata Motors registered an impressive sales number of 23,617 units, which is the highest sales point for the company in the last 99 months. The existing lineup of the Tata Motors includes two hatchbacks, Tiago and Altroz, two SUVs, Nexon and Harrier, and one sedan Tata Tigor. The homegrown car manufacturer is planning to expand the product range with a new seven-seater SUV Tata Gravitas and the HBX in the near future.
Both of the upcoming vehicles have made their debuts at the 2020 Auto Expo earlier this year. It is suggested that Tata might launch these cars in the last quarter of this year or early next year. In the past few months, Tata Motors has witnessed positive sales growth without adding new vehicles to the line-up. The Gravitas and HBX have passed the testing phase and are production-ready. However, Tata is not in a hurry to push these new cars to the market. According to Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Tata Motors, the car company is focusing on the existing product line-up and waiting for the right time to launch new vehicles so that the new launches will not hurt the ongoing momentum or disrupt the supply chain. He said,
"We are currently witnessing robust sales of our products. Though we have tripled production, the gap between demand and supply is growing. There is a waiting period ranging from two to six weeks for the cars. There are constraints in the vendor supply chain that are being addressed. We are committed to bringing the new vehicles as soon as possible."

In September and October, Tata Motors has gained significant sales growth and climbed to the third position in the sales chart. Ranking just after Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, Tata Motors has outsold Mahindra & Mahindra and Kia Motor.
In the first haft FY20-21, the car industry suffered from a sales decline of 34 per cent. Despite the general struggle, Tata Motors has registered a 10 per cent growth. As per the sales report, Maruti Suzuki took the biggest share of the market with the highest sales of 4.2 lakh units. Hyundai ranked second with 1.6 lakh. Tata finished third with 69,366 units sold. Mahindra & Mahindra followed with a total sales of 50,815 units.
As the buying sentiment is still growing during the festive season, it is expected that Tata Motors will gain good sales and keep the sales momentum going.
