Today, what we've got here are some new renderings which suggest the possible design of the upcoming SUV. The car will be based on the company’s updated Small Wide Platform, which also underpins the Compass, Toro and Renegade. Reports suggest that the Jeep Grand Compass will be powered by a more potent oil-burner. Also, these renderings reveal that the upcoming 7-seater SUV will even receive changes in terms of dimensions. The car will be wider and longer as compared to the regular model, but the wheelbase of the SUV will remain the same. The car will feature a flatter roof to offer more space inside the cabin. It will employ larger doors for easy access to the third-row seats.

Outside, the SUV will receive some cosmetical updates like the inclusion of a new grille up front along with new headlamps, taillights and bumpers on both the ends. The 7-seater Jeep Grand Compass is expected to derive power from a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel mill that produces 200bhp of peak power. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed MT and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Once launched, the SUV will rival with the likes of Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
