Toyota Glanza Mileage and Other Details Out

From a batch of speculations and spy shots that have been floating online recently, you may know that the Toyota Glanza is, in truth, nothing more than a rebadged version of its donor car- Maruti Baleno. Now, when the local launch of the Glanza is just around the corner, we bring in a range of details and information about the Toyota Glanza mileage, features, specifications, and more.

The premium product under Toyota- Suzuki joint venture, Toyota Glanza is all set to launch in India on June 6.

Features wise, the Toyota Glanza will be kitted out with a bunch of creature-comforts including automatic temperature control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and navigation supports, voice commands, adjustable driver’s seats, steering-mounted audio controls, engine start push-button, LED projector headlamps, 16-inch machined dual-tone alloy wheels and many more. Whereas some features like UV-proof glass, LED daytime running lights, LED treatment for tail lamps, leatherette steering wheel, auto headlamps with follow-me function, etc. are specific on the V trim only.

At the moment, the Maruti Baleno is available in four trims, including Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Toyota Glanza, on the other hand, will be offered with two trims only, namely G and V which are basically based on the Zeta and the top-spec Alpha grades of the Baleno, respectively.

On the mechanical front, the imminent Glanza will be powered by two engine options. One will be the BSVI-compliant 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K12B petrol that can pump out 83 PS of max power along with 113 Nm of peak torque. The other might be a BSVI-ready 1.2-litre DualJet 4-cylinder K12C petrol motor that features a lithium-battery mild-hybrid setup, all the ways to put out 90 PS and 113 Nm of torque. This mill is connected to a 5-speed MT while the former version is paired with a 5-speed MT or a CVT as an option. Like in the Baleno, the Dual Jet Smart Hybrid powertrain will be available with the lower G grade only.

As we said, the Toyota Glanza mileage figures have also been revealed.  The manual petrol variant of the new Glanza is said to deliver the fuel mileage of 21.01 kmpl while that of the CVT version stands at 19.56 kmpl. The petrol mild-hybrid variant, on the other hand, is claimed to have a fuel mileage rating of 23.87 kmpl. These figures are as similar as those of the Maruti Baleno sibling.

The Toyota Glanza will come in two grades, viz G and V, which are based on the Baleno's Zeta and Alpha variants, respectively.

To add more identities to the brand new model, Toyota has decided to offer quite an attractive longer warranty scheme for the new Glanza. That said, the brand new hatchback will be available with a three-year/1,00,000 km warranty as standard which makes it in line with other Toyota models in the range. In comparison, the Maruti Baleno comes up with a 2-year/ 40,000 km warranty as a standard package. Understandably, that comes courtesy of the price increments of around Rs 10,000- 14,000 in the Toyota Glanza as compared to the original Baleno model. That said, the Toyota Glanza will be priced at Rs 8 Lakh for the entry-level variant and Rs 9 Lakh for the V CVT version (ex-showroom).
