Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted version of its best selling hatchback, the Swift. It comes with a new powertrain and updated features list. Here's a comparison of the prices between the new Swift vs the old one.

Maruti Suzuki today launched the 2021 Swift facelift in India, with prices starting at Rs 5.73 lakh, ex-showroom. The best selling hatchback gets a mid-life refresh which comes with a host of new updates, both visually and on the features and safety front. The most notable visual change is the new front grille which gets a silver finish on the grille mesh along with a chrome strip on the centre.  There are 3 new dual-tone colours - Pearl Arctic White with Pearl Midnight Black roof, Solid Fire Red with Pearl Midnight Black roof, Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue with Pearl Arctic White roof. Other than that changes are negligible with the new Swift retaining most of the elements from the pre-facelift model. 2021 Maruti Swift Facelift vs Pre-facelift – What’s New?


Comparing the prices of the new 2021 Maruti Swift with the latest prices of the pre-facelift model, the price hike for the new model ranges from Rs 17,000 – Rs 25,000. The lowest price hike is for the VXI MT while the highest is for the top-end ZXI+ AGS. Also, since the ZXI trims also come with dual-tone colour options, you’ll have to shell out an extra Rs 14,000 if you opt for it. You’ll also notice from the table above is that there’s an exact Rs 50,000 difference between the manual gearbox variants and the AGS variants.

The facelifted Maruti Swift comes with new features like an updated 4.2-inch TFT MID display between the analogue dials, a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Studio which offers better integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, key synchronised auto foldable ORVMs, and cruise control. Safety-wise, the new Swift now gets an Electronic Stability Program with a hill-hold function on the AMT variants, bigger front and rear brakes, as well as revised steering with a better return-ability mechanism. It also comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, front-seat seatbelt warning, seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiters, ISOFIX anchors, reverse parking sensors and cameras.

The new Maruti Swift is powered by the new-generation 1.2-litre Dual Jet VVT petrol engine which also powers the Baleno. The new powertrain makes more power than before, 90 PS compared to 83 PS and makes 113 Nm of peak torque. The engines also come with Idle Start Stop tech for improved fuel efficiency and also gets Dual VVT and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation system that helps lower emissions.
