Being one of the most well-known auto shows in Asia, the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) has attracted numerous car manufacturers to showcase their new models there. The ongoing 2019 BIMS has witnessed the appearance of the many India-bound vehicles, from which, we have chosen top 5 models for our list of upcoming cars in India from BIMS 2019

7th-gen BMW 3 Series

The seventh-gen BMW Series debuted at the 2019 BIMS. It's one of the most advanced and luxurious vehicles among our list of 5 upcoming cars in India from BIMS 2019. Taking many design cues from the latest 5 Series and the 7 Series, the new-gen 3 Series comes with the most modern interpretation of the company's signature kidney grille. The front-end even boasts of sleeker LED headlamps and a sportier bumper. Its cabin is equipped with modern features with cutting-edge technologies like the latest i-drive infotainment unit and a digital instrument cluster. Once launched in India, the new 3 Series is expected to keep under its hood 2.0L petrol and diesel motors, both of which will be mated to an 8-speed AT gearbox.

Like its predecessor, the facelifted BMW 3 Series will be built at the Chennai plant of the company and is expected to be introduced to the Indian auto market in India by 2020. Underpinned by the CLAR platform, the new-gen vehicle is lighter than the outgoing one by 55 kgs.

10th-gen Honda Accord

The all-new Honda Accord is the next car in our list of 5 upcoming cars in India from BIMS 2019. The 10th-gen model just made its debut at the motor show in Bangkok. There are some small disparities between ASEAN-bound model and the global one such as the 54 mm longer wheelbase and 10 mm greater width, the 13 mm less length and the 15 mm less height. The front is packed with a chrome grille, a well-sculpted bumper, new LED headlamps and DRLs. Newly designed alloy wheels and the rear C-shaped LED taillights have also been added to the exterior feature list of the vehicle.

Like other new Honda vehicles, the cabin of the new Accord comes with a wide touchscreen infotainment setup on the centre console and a host of top-notch safety features. Under the hood of the new Accord is a 1.5-litre turbo motor with 190 hp and a 2.0-litre hybrid unit with 215 hp of maximum power. This new sedan is scheduled to be launched in India by the end of 2019.

Suzuki Ertiga Sport

Officially debuted at the 2019 BIMS, the new Eriga Sport variant is anticipated to make its launch in India soon. The Japanese company has tried to maintain the basic design theme of its normal variant but make the Sport one look sportier by equipping this variant with brand-new front, side and rear soft parts. Furthermore, in this variant, the length of the vehicle has been raised by 75 mm.

Other than the black seat coverings, the interior of the vehicle is kept the same as the regular model. The Ertiga Sport receives its power from a 1.5L petrol motor which is good for a maximum power of 104 PS and a peak torque of 138 Nm. The transmission duties are undertaken by a 5-speed MT gearbox and a 4-speed AT unit.

The Sport variant of the Ertiga is going to be launched in India soon.

New Isuzu D-Max V-Cross

Making its official debut at the 2019 BIMS, the updated Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is expected to go on sale in the Thai auto market soon. The facelifted model will get some design tweaks such as a new front bumper, newly designed headlamps and a revised rear bumper. Besides, the cabin is replete with more equipment.

The most substantial change happens under the hood. The current 2.5-litre motor has been substituted with a 1.9-litre turbo diesel one, which can deliver a max. power/torque output of 150 hp/350 Nm. The power is sent to all the wheels via a 6-speed MT or AT gearbox.

The new-gen Isuzu D-Max V-Cross has been spotted testing in India, which means that it is going to be launched in the country in the foreseeable future.

MG eZS

The last car in our list of upcoming cars in India from BIMS 2019 is the MG eZS. It is expected to be the second product for India from the British auto manufacturer, which means it will launch after the upcoming MG Hector. The electric version of the MG ZS is anticipated to go on sale in India between the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019. The eZS borrows most of the exterior design cues from its ICE powered version and their cabins are almost the same, too.

Having said that, some minor alterations have been done to the EV such as a new closed front grille in the exterior along with a slightly tweaked instrument cluster and infotainment system in the interior. The eZS is powered by a 45.6 kWh battery package that offers 149 PS and 350 Nm. It is claimed to have a travel range of 335 km per charge and the battery takes only half an hour to be charged from 0 - 80% through a fast charger.
