The 2020 Hyundai Verna is one of the most feature-laden and thoroughly modern sedans in its segments and now comes with BS-VI engines. Today we have this video showing how to convert it to CNG.

Hyundai launched the new Verna in May 2020 after the last generation finally came to the end of its production cycle. The 2020 Verna is an all-new model with a new body and design. It now follows Hyundai’s new design language of a more aggressive front end and myriad creases. The new sedan also comes with updated BS-VI engines in five variants and also gets a new 1-litre turbo petrol engine as an option. But as fuels are becoming more expensive every passing year, in a city like Delhi converting your vehicle to CNG is always an economical decision. Today we came across this video which shows a brand new Hyundai Verna being converted to CNG.

The video has been uploaded by Zuby USTAD on YouTube, and we can see the conversion of a BS-VI engined new Hyundai Verna to accept CNG propulsion as well. The first half of the video shows the engine bay of the Verna and the clean installation of the CNG system. The engine bay now fits in the whole CNG kit comprising of the inlet valve, the reducer which converts the gas pressure as per the vehicle’s specs, gauges, rail inlets to pump gas individually to ensure smooth operation, and the new ECU with a laptop port for remapping the engine. As BS-VI engines use double the amount of fuel injectors, CNG conversions are now a bit trickier but possible to install smoothly to a vehicle. On the rear, due to the Verna’s big boot, the 12 kg CNG cylinder only eats around half of the usable space. After turning on the engine, we can see the engine idles at stable revs without fluctuation. While driving there is no discernable difference from when it is in petrol power, with the engine revving freely.
