Here’s a drag race between old-gen Creta and Kia Seltos and the results are quite surprising. Go through the video embedded below to know more.
The new-gen Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are quite popular among the Indian buyers. There are a lot of commonalities between both cars like the platform, engine, gearbox combinations and other mechanical components. If you conduct a drag race between both the cars then the chances are quite high that you are likely to get similar results. But, here we have a very interesting drag race video between the Kia Seltos and previous-gen Hyundai Creta. The video is uploaded by a YouTube channel named as Sanjeet Jaat and as you can see in the video that both the cars were diesel-powered. The only difference between both the cars is that the Seltos is paired with an automatic gearbox, while the Creta is mated to a manual transmission.
In terms of mechanical specs, the Seltos is a bit powerful than the old-gen Creta. As one can see in the video that the Hyundai Creta gets off the line quicker than Kia Seltos. The swift launch of Creta has to be credited to its manual transmission, but afterwards, Seltos quickly catches up and takes the lead, and it remained ahead of the Creta up to the finish line. The race was divided into three different rounds, and these rounds show the same results every time. Moreover, in the second round, Hyundai Creta has a good start and was in the lead for a while, but soon Seltos catches up and overtakes the Creta in no time.
The Hyundai Creta you see here is powered by a 1.4-litre diesel mill, which churns out 90bhp of power and 220 Nm of torque, while on the other hand, the Kia Seltos is propelled by a 1.5-litre diesel motor that produces power and torque outputs of 115bhp and 250 Nm. This clearly shows that the Seltos is more potent than the old-gen Creta. Although the Hyundai Creta had a good start every time because of the manual gearbox, but Kai Seltos could effortlessly catch up and overtakes the Creta because it is significantly more powerful.
