The Hyundai Elite i20 was one of the best premium hatchbacks you could buy. Even though there's an all-new i20 now, check out this modified stealth black Elite i20 with an air suspension system.

When Hyundai Motors India introduced the first i20 in India over a decade ago in 2008, it was one of the first premium hatchbacks in the country. It offered as many features as sedans like the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, but being a hatchback made it easier to drive around in the city. The second-generation Elite i20 came 6 years later in 2014 and turned out to be even more successful than the first one. Though there’s an all-new i20 now which has been topping the sales charts, the second-generation model is still a great vehicle. The Elite i20 also has a strong aftermarket modifying scene in India, and today we came across this particular one which gets a custom suspension system.

The video has been uploaded by Musafir Aka Joshi on YouTube. This Hyundai Elite i20 mod has been done N1 Customs, Kochi. They have given the i20 a new custom body kit with flared wheel arches, a new redesigned bumper, custom side skirts, and a full dechroming job. The hatchback was originally white but has been repainted in a shade of gloss black. The stock wheels have been binned for a set of 9J 17-inch silver multi-spoke alloys. But the biggest modification is the new air suspension system and is probably the only i20 that has this in India. The system has been neatly integrated into the boot with no wires or piping poking out. Over to the interior, it remains largely stock except for an aftermarket Sparco gearknob and controls for the air suspension. The system gets a digital display for accurate readings and the whole vehicle can be lowered to the max at the press of a button.

The Hyundai Elite i20 Active came with both petrol and diesel engine choices. The oil burner is a 1.4-litre four-pot turbo-diesel engine that makes peak power and torque figures of 90 PS and 220 Nm and is paired to a 6-speed manual. The other engine option was a 1.2-litre petrol motor which made 82 PS and 115 Nm of peak power and torque figures. There was a 1.4-litre petrol unit which made maximum figures of 100 PS/134 Nm as well.
