Indian Superstars’ Luxury Cars - Audi R8 Spyder to Porsche Boxster

In India, many celebrities are often spotted driving their supercars. Above is a list of 10 such luxury cars’ owners.

Audi R8 Spyder

Saif Ali Khan, the 10th Nawab of Patadi, is well-known for being a car enthusiast and owns a wide array of luxury cars like the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. He also has an old Mustang which was imported from the USA. Before this, Saif was spied quite a lot in the red-painted Audi R8 Spyder. He was even once spotted with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the car on a weekend ride. The car receives its power from a 5.2-litre V10 motor which can deliver a maximum power/torque output of 525 bhp/ 530 Nm. It can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds.

Audi R8 V10 Plus

Another owner of an Audi R8 is Virat Kohli. Being the captain of the Indian cricket team and Audi India’s brand ambassador, Virat Kohli owns quite a few Audi cars including two Bentley sedans. Besides, he also owns an Audi R8 V10 Plus. Below is a video which shows Virat Kohli drive the new Audi R8V10 Plus. The vehicle is powered by a 610 bhp 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 motor. The transmission duties are undertaken by a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox.  The 0-100 km/h acceleration time of the car is just 3.2 seconds; its maximum speed is 330 kmph.

Ferrari 488GTB

In Nag Chaitanya’s luxury car collection, there are two Ferraris consisting of a Ferrari F43 and the newer Ferrari 488GTB. Both of the cars are often driven by Nag and he is often spotted in the Ferrari 488GTB. Launched in India in 2016, the car is priced at INR 2.88 crores. It keeps under its hood a 2.9-litre V8 twin-turbocharged motor which can generate a 670 bhp against 760 Nm. The power is sent to the two rear wheels via a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Sanjay Dutt - Ferrari 599 GTB

Ferrari models seem to be favourite cars of many Indian famous people. Also being a luxury car enthusiast, Sanjay Dutt owned some supercars including a Ferrari 599 GTB which was also featured in the movie “Ferrari Ki Sawari“. In the video, we can see that Sanjay Dutt is explaining to Sharman Joshi, the main actor of the moviem, how to drive the vehicle. The Ferrari 599 GTB gets its power from a 6-litre V12 motor with a maximum power of 618 bhp. He also owns many other exotic cars including a Rolls Royce Ghost.

Gautam Singhania - McLaren 720S

Gautam Singhania is the only owner of a Ferrari 458 Challenge in India. Besides, he also owns among many other luxury cars including a McLaren 720S, which is the second unit to be present in India. Under the hood of Gautam Singhania’s McLaren 720S is a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo petrol motor which is good for a 710 bhp against 770 Nm. It has a 0-100 kmpl acceleration time of just 2.8 seconds.

Nissan GT-R

Being a giant automobile fanatic, John Abraham owns a wide range of luxury cars and bikes. He owns a Lamborghini Gallardo in the past and more recently an all-black Nissan GT-R. The GT-R receives its power from a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine which can deliver 565 bhp of maximum power and 647 Nm of peak torque.

Aston Martin Rapide S

Being loyal to the Mercedes-Benz brand, Ranveer Singh owns a wide array of models from the German luxury carmaker including GL-Class, the GLS and the flagship Maybach S500. Moreover, the famous Indian actor also owns a Jaguar XJL, a Range Rover Vogue and an Aston Martin Rapide S, which is the first unit of the vehicle to be delivered to a Bollywood celebrity’s garage. His Aston Martin Rapide S keeps under its hood a 6.0-litre V12 motor with a maximum power of 560 bhp.

Lamborghini Murcielago

In the past, Yuvraj Singh owned a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, which he was often spotted driving at the Budh International Circuit, the only Formula1 spec track in India. The vehicle is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 petrol motor which can produce a maximum power of 61 bhp. Besides this, he also owns a collection of luxury cars including a BMW M5 Convertible and a BMW X5M.

BMW i8

Sachin Tendulkar has been well-known for his passion for BMW cars. He used to own a BMW X5M and currently has numerous new-gen BMW models including the BMW i8, which is a hybrid supercar powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol motor coupled with an advanced hybrid system. While the petrol unit can deliver 321 bhp against 321 Nm, the electric motor can produce an extra power/torque figure of 131 bhp and 250 Nm. The vehicle received a combined power/torque of 262 bhp/570 Nm. It can speed up from a standstill to 100 kmph in only 4.4 seconds. Moreover, he is also known to own a Ferrari, which was given to him as a gift from the legendary racer Micheal Schumacher.

Porsche Boxster

Suresh Raina, the star player of the Indian international cricket team owns a Porsche Boxster. Suresh Raina has been spotted many times driving his Porsche Boxster to his practice fields during the Indian Premier League. The car has been even driven by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the team captain. Serving as the vehicle’s power source is a 3.4-litre, 6-cylinder, flat motor which can produce 326 bhp against 361 Nm. The transmission duties are undertaken by 7-clutch PDK DCT gearbox or a 6-speed MT unit.
