Kia Sonet HTX+ EASILY Modified Into GTX+ Model

Kia’s third product for the Indian market, the Sonet SUV has been on sale in India at the price ranging from Rs 6.71 – 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The latest offering from Kia competes against the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford Ecosport, etc. in the sub-4m SUV segment. Shortly after the Sonet is on sale, people have started giving the Sonet compact SUV some interesting modifications. Here’s a modified HTX+ trim of the Kia Sonet SUV that has been converted into the top-end GTX+ model. Have a look!

Uploaded on a Youtube Channel named Nakul Khanna – Whatsoever, this video shows us all sorts of aftermarket modifications have been made to the Sonet HTX+ to help it completely transform into the range-topping GTX+ model. It’s worth noting that as it was based on HTX+ trim, the car has already packed itself with almost all bells and whistles of the GTX+ trim. Therefore, they just needed some minor modifications to get the job done.

As you may know, the biggest factor that differentiates the Tech Line from GT Line trim of the Sonet is the red accents placed on the grille, front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels and side body cladding. The HTX+ variant, in its original form, boasts of silver finishes on those areas along with a plain Tiger Nose grille. The modified Kia Sonet gets masked wheel cap and silver cladding in red wraps while the rear bumper also receives a similar treatment.

If you look at the Tech Line and GT Line closely, you’ll notice a slightly different design for the lower portion of the front bumper. It remains unknown if the owner has tweaked the front grille of the car to justify the GT line look or not.

The all-new Kia Sonet is available with three engine options, including a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol burner and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel motor unit. Notably, the Kia Sonet is the first car in its segment to offer a proper diesel-automatic combination. However, the car featured in the video is the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol with iMT option.
