Mahindra XUV500 is among the most popular SUVs offered by the carmaker in the Indian market. It is also very popular among buyers in South Africa and Australia. The SUV is offered with both 2WD and 4WD variants. The 4WD drive trim of the SUV is quite capable and can counter some tough terrains. Earlier, many videos of Mahindra XUV500 rescuing big SUVs became popular. Here’s another popular video, which shows the capabilities of Mahindra XUV500.

This video is uploaded by E Goody YouTube channel. The Mahindra XUV500 you see here is the 4WD trim of the SUV, and this incident took place in South Africa. This is the pre-facelift model of the SUV, which derives power from a 2.2-litre mHawk engine that produces 140bhp of power and 330 Nm of peak torque. The power plant offered in the ongoing model of the SUV develops power and torque outputs of 155bhp and 360 Nm. The video shows Mahindra XUV500 is pulling a massive truck out of the hole. Initially, one can see the SUV struggling to grip and then it finally gets enough traction to pull the truck out of the hole. The hole was pretty deep and seems to have been created by truck’s freely rotating tyre. It also seems that the truck was carrying some load, which makes it quite difficult to rescue.

The Mahindra XUV500 easily pulled the massive truck out of the ditch. The 4WD system of Mahindra XUV500 is not a full-fledge off-road friendly system. It does not come with a low-ratio transfer case, which is very useful if a vehicle gets stuck in difficult situations. Talking about the Mahindra XUV500, the automaker has plans to introduce the new-gen model of the SUV. The ongoing model of the car is offered at a starting price of Rs 13.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes and the way up to Rs 19.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec variant.
