The Maruti Vitara Brezza you see here is powered by a 1.5-litre NA gasoline mill, which puts out 105 PS of peak power and 135 Nm of torque. The engine comes coupled to a 5-speed MT. The SUV is also offered with an optional 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the Hyundai Venue in this video is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which shreds out power and torque outputs of 120 PS and 172 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed iMT gearbox. In total, three rounds of the acceleration test were conducted to retrieve the best timings. In this test, we found that the Maruti Brezza is slightly quicker than the Hyundai Venue. The best timing achieved by Maruti Vitara Brezza was 12.39 seconds, while the best timing attained by Hyundai Venue was 12.46 seconds. This simply shows that the NA mill offered with Maruti Vitara Brezza is as peppier as the turbocharged unit offered with Hyundai Venue.

Other than a turbo petrol engine, the Hyundai Venue is also powered by 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre petrol engine. The former develops 82bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque, while the latter puts out 99bhp and 240 Nm of twisting force. Last year, the automaker introduced Venue with a new clutchless-manual gearbox - 6-speed iMT, in the Indian market. With the introduction of this new gearbox option, the Indian audience gets to enjoy a manual gearbox but without the hassle of a clutch pedal. This gearbox option is a better choice for those who want to use gear lever but are not in favour of using the clutch pedal. The 6-speed iMT is quite different from the AMT gearbox because in AMT you also don’t need to use the gear lever either.
