Kia Seltos was the brand’s first offering the Indian market and was capable of carving a niche for the South-Korean carmaker. The Seltos managed to help the brand in establishing a strong customer base, which has eventually helped its younger sibling – Sonet in making its way to the headlines for its sales figures. Earlier this year, Kia updated the Seltos with certain changes. However, the most awaited all was the introduction of the sunroof on lower trims. But, the top-spec HTX+ trim was infused with some changes as well. To know of these changes, we came across a detailed walkaround video of the top-spec Kia Seltos HTX+ trim on YouTube. It was uploaded by Plus Drive on their channel.
In the video, the host starts by explaining all the crucial design details of the Seltos’s exterior. The HTX+ trim comes with all-LED headlamps and ice-cube LED fog lamps. The lower-spec trims, however, come with projector setup for the headlamps. On the inside, the Seltos comes with a host of features. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bose Sound system, a head-up display, wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats and more.
Talking of the changes that MY20 Seltos HTX+ gets in comparison to the older model, there are many. It now comes standard with emergency stop signal for the tail lamps, whereas automatic variants now get remote engine start function. The changes that are specific to the HTX+ trim of the Seltos include “Hello Kia” command, smartwatch connectivity, UVO control air purifier, voice assist for holidays and cricket score, silver garnish for climate control panel, and new dual-tone Orange-white paint scheme. Moreover, it is now available with an all-black themed interior.
The Seltos is available with a total of three engine options in the Indian market. The list includes a 115 PS 1.5L NA petrol, 115 PS 1.5L turbo-diesel, and 140 PS 1.4L turbo-petrol. The gearbox options on the Seltos include a 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT, 7-speed DCT, and a CVT. Prices for the Seltos start at Rs. 9.89 lakh and go up to Rs. 17.34 lakh. With these prices, the Seltos rivals the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier.
