The Kia Sonet is currently the best selling Compact SUV in India. Since there's so many of them, owners are going to the aftermarket to distinguish theirs. We have this black Sonet which gets tasteful BBS rims.
The Kia Sonet had pretty big shoes to step into, its bigger sibling the Seltos has been a very successful model for the brand in its 1 year of being on sale. Fortunately, the Sonet has been liked by the Indian consumer just as much, already finding over 20,000 happy owners since its launch a couple of months ago. Its eye-catching design, feature-packed variants, and aggressive prices have made it the top-selling compact SUV in the Indian market currently. That’s even more impressive when you realize it competes against the new Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, and its sibling the Hyundai Venue in a crowded segment. And today, we have this Kia Sonet which gets a set of new aftermarket BBS alloy wheels.
The picture has been uploaded by f42_customs over on Instagram, and we can see this brand-new Kia Sonet being shod with some fetching BBS rims. BBS is a German alloy wheel maker founded in 1970. It is one of the most famous wheel makers, the younger readers may remember their wheels from the Need For Speed games of the mid-2000s. BBS is also steeped in motorsport, during the mid-90s every major 4-wheel racing discipline had teams using their rims. Their multi-spoke design has become iconic, and it’s the same design of alloys that have been fitted to this Sonet. It is an 18-inch rim, the stock alloys come in at 17 inches and the rims are now wearing lower profile rubber. Overall, the iconic design paired with the black shade of the Sonet makes it look quite good, and enthusiasts’ eyes will catch on the wheels.
The Kia Sonet comes with the choice of three engine options, 2 petrol, and 1 diesel. The 1.2-litre petrol makes 83 PS/115 Nm of peak figures and is paired with a 5-speed manual while the 1.0 turbo-petrol makes 120 PS/172 Nm of max power and torque and is mated to a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre oil-burner comes in either 100PS/240 Nm or 115 PS/250 Nm states of tune and you get two gearbox choices, a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto.
