Here's a recent digital rendering of the new-gen Mahindra XUV500 made by our in-house designer. The all-new model of the SUV will derive power from a petrol and diesel motor.

As many of you may know that Mahindra & Mahindra is testing the new-gen model of the XUV500 at full pace, and is expected to hit the Indian shores by next year. The fully camouflaged test mule of the SUV has been spied several times. Recently, a prototype model version of the car was snapped with the production-ready front fascia, which employs new modern looking headlamps. The prototype model of the car was also camouflaged. Our in-house designer Soheb R. Kalania has created a new digital rendering, which shows how the upcoming new-gen model of the Mahindra XUV500 could look like.

One can see in the rendering that the new-gen model of the SUV looks like the matured version of Mahindra XUV300. Upfront, it gets XUV300 like LED DRLs, which features twin lighting elements. The front radiator grille of the SUV gets vertical slats, which employs chrome accents to enhance the premium quotient of the car. The bumper of the SUV looks clean as it only gets sharp lines and creases. The lower part of the bumper gets a sleek air-dam, which gives an upmarket look to the front-end of the SUV. We expect the upcoming model of the XUV500 will be highly-evolved as compared to the ongoing model of the car. Mechanically, it is expected to derive power from a new 2.0-litre four-pot gasoline mill, which is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 190bhp and 380 Nm.

This petrol engine was also showcased early this year at the 2020 Auto Expo. It’ll also get propelled by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel mill, which develops 152bhp of power and 360 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The carmaker will source the automatic transmission from Aisin. The ongoing model of the SUV is only powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which comes coupled to a manual and automatic gearbox. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 13.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
