Tata Altroz is almost a year old now. The premium hatchback has been making big to the headlines as one of the best-selling Tata cars in the Indian market. Also, it managed to score a complete 5-star crash-test rating at the Global NCAP’s test rig. Owners of Tata Altroz are often seen sharing the post-accident pictures of their cars on various social media platforms to showcase the safety aspect it comes packed with. Recently, we too came across a set of images via a social media platform, where a Tata Altroz can be seen resting on a tree trunk in a scary position after falling off the road into a deep ravine. Nagarjuna Adarapu shared these images of the accident, which took place somewhere in Nepal.

Fortunately, the car came to a stop after its roof hit the tree trunk. It can be seen in the images that only the rear facet of the Altroz is resting on the ground. It is standing 90-degree straight with the support of the tree. The impact of the accident seems quite severe as well. The Altroz’s roof, bonnet, nose, and doors are crushed to a major extent. Fortunately, all the occupants walked out of the car safely, without any injuries.

For the safety of the occupants, the Altroz gets dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, front seat belt reminder, collapsible steering column, high-speed alerts, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages with top tethers as standard fitment across the range.

The Altroz is currently available with two engine options – 1.2L Revotron petrol and 1.5L Revotorq diesel. The 3-pot petrol motor is good at belting out a peak power output of 86 PS and max torque of 113 Nm. As of now, it is available with a 5-speed manual transmission only. However, Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Altroz with a 1.2L turbo-petrol motor, which will get the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic along with a 6-speed MT. The turbocharged petrol engine will develop a peak power output of 120 PS and max torque of 140 Nm.
