Tata Altroz Ground Clearance Tested In A Video

Ever since its launch, the Tata Altroz has been staying in the limelight for its stylish look. Tata's first premium hatchback car is based on the company’s Impact 2.0 Design philosophy that makes it one of the best-looking cars available on sale in India. However, the Tata Altroz gets a ground clearance of 165 mm, which, albeit giving it a low-slung stance, fall shorts of that of its rivals like Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. Uploaded by CarnariaN on their Youtube channel, the Tata Altroz has been brought to test how it performs on the rough and broken roads. Initially, the Altroz was loaded with 5 people on the inside and entered a narrow entrance with a hump in it. With the weight of approximately 300 – 350 kg and some bits of carefulness, Altroz still handled it with ease.

On the broken stretched of roads, the Tata Altroz ferried at least 3 people on it. This time around, the Altroz faced very bad roads filled with many bump steep breakers which cause big challenges for any car with low ground clearance. Overall, the Tata Altroz was handling these poor patches smoothly at low speeds like any other cars in the segment with the bumper lip of the Altroz touching the roads only once.

That said, the ground clearance might be the biggest grouse of the Altroz. However, considering the fact that the Altroz is built as an urban hatchback car, it never becomes a deal-breaker within the city limits. Also, the Tata Altroz is decently-equipped with a number of features to make it a comfortable drive while its powertrain options look very convincing, indeed. The Altroz is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine along with a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel unit, both of which comes with a standard manual gearbox option.
