BMW Marks 11 percent Growth in Jan-Sep 2018 Sales

BMW has rolled out total 7,915 cars including BMW and Mini combined which marks the 11 percent increased within nine months in terms of sales growth.

BMW Group, the German carmaker has recently announced to mark the 7915 sales milestone, in which both of Mini and BMW are contributed together. In particular, BMW-badged cars accounts considerably for 7,424 units which represent 9 percent over the same period of 2017. This sales number was recorded within nine months from January to September this year. Thanks to this mark, BMW has registered 11 percent of sales growth overall.

As aforementioned, the BMW car profile is the main contributor to this big achievement. According to the BMW group, this clock arises from the customers’ robust demand of 

  • The 6-series GT

  • The 5-series 

  • SUV X1

  • SUV X3 

  • SUV X5

Among these models, X3 and X5 are said to contribute to nearly 50 percent of total sales.

The Mini-branded cars, also, recorded the highest sales mark ever which is 491 units, 58 percent higher than the same stage last year, regardless of the lower base.

Another contributor should also be listed is BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler division of BMW Group. In the stage of the first nine months this year, it hits 1000 units sales milestone. 

To boost the sales in general, the automaker also stated to launch BMW G 310 GS and BMW G 310 R in the third quarter.

Speaking about this achievement, Vikram Pawah, the chairman of BMW Group India, said to the media,

“Our robust strategy, advance planning and focus on customer service contributed in building the momentum. The government's decision to hike customs duty in Budget 2018 has kept luxury car sales under pressure”.

According to Vikram, this growth was achieved regardless of the adverse market conditions.
