7-seater Suzuki XL7 Launched In Indonesia, Will it come to India?

Based on the Maruti XL6, the Suzuki XL7 is a 7-seater MPV car that was launched in Indonesia for the prices start at IDR 230,000,000.

The Maruti XL6, which is retailed in our country via the NEXA outlets, has got a not-so-distant cousin named the Suzuki XL7 in the Indonesian market. As the name suggests, the Suzuki XL7 is a 7-seater MPV that is based on the XL6. It's ons ale at a starting price of IDR 230,000,000 (approx Rs 11.98 Lakh).

As far as the exterior goes, the Suzuki XL7 looks almost identical to the model that it’s based on. Things that differentiate the two models on the outside are the contrast black roof, blacked-out pillars, newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels and a rear upper spoiler. Also, thanks to extra seating capacity, the XL7 is slightly longer and higher than the Maruti XL6. Changes are also made to the cabin of the vehicle.

The Suzuki XL7 gets a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay supports, a bench seat with a foldable armrest at the second row in place of the captain seats in the XL6, IRVM with rearview camera display among others. The slight increase in dimensions also leads to an edge in the boot capacity of the XL7 over the XL6 sibling.

The Suzuki XL7 is offered in three grades – Beta, Zeta and Alpha. The Zeta trim comes with features like LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, front fog lamps, auto-on function, LED taillamps, 8-inch touchscreen and a middle-row centre armrest.

The Beta trim’s equipment package includes electrically-adjustable and foldable ORVMs, passive keyless entry, engine start push-button, LED rear combination lights, automatic temperature control, leather-wrapped steering, first-row centre armrest, etc. The Alpha trim’s highlight, in the meantime, comprises of door visors, chrome-accentuated number plate, rear upper spoiler and smart e-mirror.

Powering the XL7 is the same K15B petrol engine that also powers the India-spec Maruti XL6. It churns out 105 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of peak torque at 4,400 rpm and comes paired with a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT unit.

Until now, Maruti Suzuki remains tightlipped on the plan to launch the XL7 in India. Considering the demands for good people movers of the Indian families, Maruti Suzuki might introduce the XL7 or the 7-seater version of the XL6 in our market as well.
