Last month, Hyundai retailed 12,640 units of Creta in the Indian market. It rubs shoulders against the likes of Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks.

Last year, the Korean automaker Hyundai launched the new-gen Creta in the Indian market. It’s quite popular among buyers for its modern looks, feature-loaded cabin and multiple engines and gearbox options. In its segment, it rivals with the likes of Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks. Last month, the new-gen Hyundai Creta was the top-selling SUV in its segment. The automaker managed to retail 12,640 units of the SUV in March 2021. The SUV has shown 88 per cent growth as compared to the units of Hyundai Creta sold in the same month last year. Due to the countrywide lockdown in March 2020, the carmaker was not able to achieve good numbers in terms of overall sales.

The all-new Hyundai Creta is giving a cut-throat competition to its rivals, but soon this segment will get quite fierce as the VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq will hit the Indian shores in the coming months. Moreover, in the coming months, Hyundai will also launch its all-new SUV named Alcazar, which is the 6- or 7-seater version of the regular Hyundai Creta. It has been spied several times while getting tested on the Indian roads. The upcoming Hyundai SUV will sit above Creta in the automakers stable. Inside, it will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. This is the same infotainment system, which does duties in regular 5-seater Creta. The spied test mule of the SUV was heavily camouflaged, so not styling bits are visible.

Still, one can see the LED taillights, but they look slightly different from the ones offered in the Creta. One can also expect a few other cosmetic changes like a new grille up front, a longer rear overhang and revised bumpers at the front and rear. These visual tweaks will help the Alcazar look quite different from the regular model of the SUV.  It is likely to be slightly expensive than the Hyundai Creta and will rival the likes of MG Hector Plus and the upcoming new-gen Mahindra XUV500.
