The S-Cross petrol undercuts almost all of its rival in terms of its pricing by a huge margin. Talking of the new petrol engine, it is the same 1.5L K-Series motor that does duties on the Ciaz. It churns out a respectable output of 105 PS and 138 Nm. This engine will offer the added boost at the lower RPMs via Maruti’s SHVS 48V mild-hybrid technology. It will be available with 2 transmission options – 5-speed MT and 4-speed AT. The S-Cross petrol with the mild-hybrid tech will return an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 18.55 kmpl for the manual variants and 18.43 kmpl for the automatic variants.

The S-Cross in its petrol-only avatar continues to be a feature-loaded car. It comes equipped with a slew of features, such as automatic LED-projector headlamps, auto-folding and adjustable ORVMs, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and more. For the infotainment system, it now gets a 7-inch SmartPlay unit that offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility along with AUX, USB, and BlueTooth input options. However, on the design front, the S-Cross petrol remains identically the same as the diesel-powered iteration that it replaces.
