The Maruti S-Presso has completed 1 year of presence, and the carmaker has sold over 75,000 units in the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki introduced the S-Presso in India in September 2019 and the micro-SUV has now completed a successful year of presence in the Indian space. Over this period, Maruti Suzuki has garnered 75,000 takers of the S-Presso in India. Simple calculations reveal that Maruti sold nearly 205 units of S-Presso every day and nearly 8 units being sold every hour.
Speaking on this cheerful milestone, Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Mr. Shashank Srivastava said that,
“Within a short span of a year, the Maruti S-Presso has carved a strong niche for itself with many segment-first features like a dynamic centre console with SmartPlay infotainment system, steering mounted audio and voice control, etc. In line with the aspirations of young India, the S-Presso is exclusively designed to offer a mini SUV feel with the best of technologies and features. Rightfully pegged as the ‘Genki car’, the S-Presso stirs right notes to pep-up the industry.”
It is quite clear that the Indian first-time car buyers are more biased towards smart design, urban practicality, high fuel efficiency and punchy engine performance. Luckily, the Maruti S-Presso gets on its hands all of these traits.
The S-Presso features an SUV-styled stance with the flat bonnet, upright pillars and high ground clearance. The blacked-out bumpers with Vitara Brezza-inspired grille and flared wheel arches also complement the S-Presso’s aggressive stance. Customers who have bought the Maruti S-Presso are also keen on customizing their cars based on varying preference.
Powering the Maruti S-Presso employs a 1.0-litre petrol engine that churns out 68 PS of max power and 90 Nm of peak torque. This mill is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and an AutoGearshift. Also, there’s a CNG variant that is capable of generating 60 PS/ 78 Nm of torque.
The Maruti S-Presso is now on sale at the price bracket of Rs 3.70- 5.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is rivalling the likes of Renault Kwid and Datsun Redi-Go in the country.
