The first-ever Coupe derivative of Cayenne is bound to reach the Indian market this year

On commenting about the newest Porsche Cayenne Coupe of its lineup, Mr Oliver Blume, Porsche AG’s Chairman, in an interview with the publication, told that,

“The Coupé includes all the technical highlights of the current Cayenne, and its more dynamic design and new technical details position it as more progressive, athletic, and emotional.”

Frankly, the Porsche Cayenne is evolving as Blume’s words. The folks from German says that the newest Cayenne derivative gets a “typical Porsche silhouette”. It is a sleeker-styled version of Cayenne-based coupe-crossover as regarding the aesthetics when it comes to comparing with the standard model. The car is blessed with freshly-designed rear doors, 18mm-wider fenders and tweaked bumpers while the A-pillars and windshield look shallower, all giving a completely new muscular coupe’s look. Further, the new Cayenne Coupe gets a twisty roofline and adaptive roof spoiler, which can, stunningly, extend up to 5.3 inches when exceeding the speed of 90 kmph all the way to raise the downforce to the rear axle.

The Cayenne Coupe carries a very distinctive look on the exterior

Interior-wise, the latest Porsche Cayenne comes out as a four-seat configuration with the rear-bench split into two by the central armrest. Though the edge of the roof gets lower by 20 mm, it still manages to offer an ample headroom, courtesy of lowering the rear passengers by 30 mm as compared to the base model. Apart from these alterations, the Cayenne Coupe’s cabin layout replicates largely the design and feature cues from the regular version with a standard dash, infotainment touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and more. Fresh is the fact that the Cayenne Coupe is offered with a fixed panoramic glass roof, but a carbon roof similar to the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is also optional to be updated.

Thanks to the presence of a 2.9-litre, turbocharged V6 petrol engine, the Cayenne Coupe can put out a maximum power of 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque as it does under the bonnet. This variant will be the first comer in the Indian market while the infusion of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V8, so-called the Cayenne Coupe Turbo, is also in the offing to come in 2020. It is expected to make 550 hp of max power and 770 Nm of torque.

In the Indian market, the all-new Porsche Cayenne Coupe will have to do battle with the likes of Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe and BMW X6.
