The much-awaited Toyota-badged Vitara Brezza is likely to reach the car market in FY 2020-2021. Maruti Suzuki’s 1.5-litre diesel engine is expected to be on offer

Since the first rebadged model came as a product of Toyota-Suzuki partnership in the Indian market, the automotive industry in general and Indian gearheads in particular,  have been much eager to witness more new car launches under these two companies’ agreement.  It is now commonly known that the Toyota-rebadged Baleno will make its way to India by the second half of 2029 as one of the first models under this campaign. Now that these models always come together with more modern techs, the Toyota version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is grasping a wide range of enthusiasts’ interest.

In the wake of the special Baleno’s arrival, the Toyota Vitara Brezza has been revealed to come sometime between 2020-2021. While the official statement is yet to be announced and the two automotive giants are still in consideration to roll out the final decision, it still holds a large percentage of certainty.

On speaking to the media, Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s Deputy Managing Director, N Raja said,

“ The Vitara Brezza is a part of our future plans. The (Toyota-badged) Baleno is for this year; the Vitara Brezza is for next year and the year after. It’s yet to be decided.”

As what has been reported earlier, the Toyota-Suzuki sharing model is not merely the product of plain badge-engineering. The newly developed Vitara Brezza is genuinely expected to get some subtle changes in the exterior side like the redesigned bumper, lights and grille, etc. However, Raja revealed that they are planning to keep the changes and differences to a minimum to maintain a reasonable investment expense that's for keeping the car’s cost under check. Other than that, the richer and more valuable car-buying experience will be of greater focus to ensure the Toyota loyalists to remain in touch.

For the wake of this orientation, the upcoming Toyota Vitara Brezza’s engine-transmission combination will be identical to the original model, which means it is anticipated to borrow the Maruti’s in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine as the current Vitara Brezza which is slated to come before the BSVI emission norms come into effect.
