Here are the images of India’s most powerful Maruti Swift Diesel AMT. This customized Swift puts out 20-25 per cent more power than the regular model.
Early this year, India’s biggest automaker Maruti Suzuki discontinued all the diesel-powered models from its line-up. To meet the new stringent BS6 emission norms, the automaker discontinued all the diesel-powered models including Swift. The diesel version of the hatchback was first launched by the carmaker back in 2007, after the introduction of petrol-powered trim. The diesel trim of the car became quite popular among the buyers because of the high torque and less body weight. This allowed buyers to enjoy the turbo powerband. If you don’t know, diesel engines are easier to tune and here we have one such example, where a Swift diesel AMT has been tuned to become the most powerful Swift diesel across the country.
The performance tuning job has been done by Pete’s Automotive, which is a known workshop for performance-related customizations in the car. The photos you see here were uploaded by the official social media page of the tuner, but the accurate power output and the cost of the modifications are still undercover. The post suggests that the Swift AMT now puts out 20-25 per cent more power compared to the stock model. The regular Maruti Swift derives power from a 1.3-litre multijet diesel mill that produces power and torque outputs of 76bhp and 190 Nm. The increase in 25% power output means that this Swift diesel AMT now puts out around 95 PS and 237.5 Nm of peak torque.
The Swift you see here is the latest-gen model of the car and is based on the company’s HEARTECT platform, which means that it the lightest version of the car. The increase in power in Swift will surely be enjoyable. Moreover, it is not known that if any changes have been done to the automatic gearbox of the car. Nevertheless, most of the oil burners are tuned using a tuning box and ECU remaps. Always remember that any customizations made in your car can directly affect the performance and can also be used by the service centre as a reason to void the warranty of your vehicle.
