Kia Sonet VS Hyundai Venue Comparison- Dimensions, Boot Space and Ground Clearance

Here’s the dimension, boot space and ground clearance comparison between the Hyundai Venue and upcoming Kia Sonet.

The Korean automaker Kia has recently revealed its all-new sub-4-meter SUV named- Sonet. The car is slated to launch in the Indian market by the upcoming festive season. The official price of the SUV is expected to be revealed by next month. The carmaker has already unveiled the key features of the SUV like its trims, dimensions and powertrain options. The all-new Kia Sonet will be available in two different trim levels namely-Tech Line and GT Line and will be offered with a few engine and gearbox combinations. In terms of dimensions, the new Kia Sonet is 3,995 mm long, 1,790 mm wide and 1,647 mm tall.

The length of SUV is similar to that of its direct rival Hyundai Venue, but the Sonet is 20 mm wider and 57 mm taller. Moreover, the all-new Kia SUV will have a wheelbase of 2,500 mm and stand 211 mm above the ground. The all-new Kia Sonet will offer a luggage capacity of 392-litres. As compared to the Hyundai Venue, the new Kia Sonet will offer 21 mm higher ground clearance and 40-litres of more boot space. The upcoming Kia Sonet will be powered by 4 different engine options- a 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre diesel with VGT (variable geometry turbocharger). The 1.2-litre petrol mill puts out 82bhp of power at 6,300 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm and comes paired with a 5-speed MT. The turbo-petrol unit develops 118bhp at 6,000 rpm and 172 Nm at 1,500 rpm to 4,000 rpm.

Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed  iMT or a 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre oil-burner has been tuned to develop two different power outputs- 99bhp at 4,000rpm with 240Nm at 1,500rpm – 2,750rpm and 113bhp at 4,000rpm with 250Nm at 1,500rpm – 2,750rpm. The former will be offered with entry-level trims with a 6-speed MT, while the latter will be offered with top-spec models coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
