This Maruti WagonR Stingray is modified with a sporty-looking body kit and wears a shiny green wrap. Check out our post here for more details.
Maruti WagonR is a tall-boy hatchback offering from the largest carmaker of the country. It is loved by the Indian audience for the space it offers at an affordable price tag. However, it isn’t sporty at all, neither in terms of looks nor in terms of driving dynamics. But that has not stopped some WagonR owners from modifying their possessions to look like go-faster machines. Here’s one that we came across, and it belongs to Akash Ashok, who hails from Kerela. Also, he doesn’t own a regular WagonR. He owns the WagonR Stingray, instead. It was a sportier iteration of the last-gen WagonR. Though, it was sportier, only aesthetically.
The owner, however, has uplifted the game furthermore by giving the car a badass body kit along with some other modifications. As a part of the body kit, this WagonR Stingray now gets custom front and rear bumpers, which stretch all the way down to the road. On the sides, it gets custom side skirts and fender extenders. Also, it now sits on a set of deep-dish aftermarket alloy wheels that are shod with low-profile tyres.
On the rear, the revised bumper sports a multi-fin diffuser. A spoiler is also fixed on the boot lid. The headlamps and tail lamps are stock units, but the latter are tinted with a black vinyl wrap. For better illumination, the bulbs of the headlamps are replaced with aftermarket LED units. This WagonR Stingray has lost a fair bit of ground clearance, thanks to the body kit and lowered suspension. Yes! The owner has replaced the factory-fitted spring with aftermarket coil-overs. Overall, it is a looker with the chrome-green paint scheme coupled with the body kit.
Although, if there’s anything tuned under the hood, we are not aware of it. As such, Maruti too never offered the WagonR Stingray with a powerful engine, but it was adequate for a car of this size. It came with a 1.0L 3-pot petrol motor that was good to put out a peak power output of 68 PS and a max torque of 90 Nm. It was offered with 2 transmission options – 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT.
