Mahindra & Mahindra has recently launched the new-gen Thar in the Indian market. In terms of design, it looks almost as classy as the Jeep Wrangler. However, the front grille of the new version of the Mahindra off-roader does not look that impressive. The buyers of the new model, however, have been quite quick to install the signature Jeep grille. Here are a few images of new-gen Mahindra Thar SUVs which employ Jeep-like grille.

A person can get this grille from the mod shops around the country or via authorized Mahindra dealers as an accessory. The new grille has enhanced the overall design of the SUV, and now the all-new Mahindra Thar looks more eye-catching. Other than this, no customizations have been done on the SUV. The cost of this aftermarket grille is not known, but it doesn’t seem to be that pricey. One can also contact the nearest Mahindra dealership for more information. However, here's another example with an aftermarket Jeep grille. It also employs off-road spec BFGoodrich KO2 tyres, which are wrapped around 18-inch stock alloy wheels. The new-gen Mahindra Thar looks mesmerizing in this all-black colour shade.

The new Mahindra Thar is retailed in three different variants namely- AX, AX(O) and LX. The first unit of  SUV was auctioned for Rs 1.10 crore and was delivered early this week to Mr Aakash Minda. Since the official bookings of the SUV have commenced, the automaker has received 20,000 reservations. the carmaker has recently announced to ramp up the production of the new-gen Thar from 2,000 to 3,000 units per month from next year.

The 2020 Mahindra off-raoder is based on a new platform and is bigger in dimensions as compared to the first-gen model. It gets powered by a 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. The former develops 150bhp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque, while the latter puts out power and torque outputs of 130 PS and 320 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 2020 Mahindra Thar is offered at a starting price of Rs 9.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
