Tata Altroz (5-star G-NCAP) Collides With Ford EcoSport (4-star Euro-NCAP)

Here’s a recent incident, where Tata Altroz crashes into the rear-end of Ford EcoSport.

Right now, Tata Altroz is the safest hatchback in India as it has scored 5-star rating at the NCAP crash test. It was launched in the Indian market early this year. It rivals with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Baleno. Till now, very few accidents of the premium hatchback have been reported, nevertheless, in all of them, it saved the lives of passengers. Here’s a recent video, which shows Tata Altroz crashes into the rear-end of Ford EcoSport.

This video has been uploaded by a YouTube channel named as Born 2 Ride. The Altroz driver was not able to see clearly as it was night time and raining heavily. He was at a speed of 70 to 80 kmph when the EcoSport driver suddenly pushed the brake pedal, and Altroz driver could not apply brakes at that time. In Tata Altroz, its bonnet has crumpled up. Moreover, the front bumper, grille and under-body cladding has also got affected. There were also a few dents and scratches on the side fender and front passenger door. The owner of the Altroz was still able to drive Altroz and take it to the service centre. Ford EcoSport, on the other hand, received a few minor dents and scratches on the boot.

In comparison to Tata Altroz, the impact is less, but Ford will charge a good amount to replace the whole boot system. Tata Altroz owner had Zero-dep insurance and had to pay a very little amount to get his car fixed. Ford EcoSport is among the most affordable cars to come with six airbags, on the top-spec trims. On the other hand, Tata Altroz comes with drive & passenger airbags as standard. It is offered at a starting price of Rs 5.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the entry-level XE petrol trim and goes all the way up to Rs 9.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec XZ Urban diesel variant.
