Tata cars are known among the buyers in India for their robust built quality and aggressive price tag. One of the safest cars they offer in our market is the Altroz. Tata Altroz is the company’s premium hatchback, which was introduced early last year. In the Indian market, it rivals the likes of Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. Tata Altroz is the safest car in its segment as it has scored a 5-star rating on the Global NCAP crash test. Here's a recent image of Tata Altroz, where it had a head-on collision with a truck.

The accident of this Tata Altroz looks quite severe. One can see that the front-end of the car has got completely smashed and has gone under the truck. As per reports, all the passengers were able to escape the vehicle with no injuries. This simply shows the amazing built quality of the Tata hatchback. A few months back, the carmaker launched the more powerful iTurbo version of Altroz. Mechanically, it derives power from a 1.2-litre 3-pot turbo petrol mill. The same power plant does duties in Nexon. The Altroz range gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 5.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes all the way up to Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit puts out 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the regular NA variant of the car develops power and torque outputs of 83 PS and 115 Nm. It also gets  propelled by a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel mill, which is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 90 PS and 200 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT, but reports suggest that the automaker has plans to introduce a DCT gearbox with the hatchback in the near future. The DCT trim of the car has been snapped several times while getting tested.
