Below is a list of three Jeep SUVs which will be launched in India in the foreseeable future. Read on to discover.
Jeep had enjoyed a lot of success when it entered the Indian market with its compact SUV, the Jeep Compass. After a successful run of almost a year though, things seem to be going downhill for the brand. With recent launches of new SUVs like MG Hector, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Venue, there seem to be a lot of options that Indian buyers prefer over the Jeep. The American automaker isn't giving up, however, and is planning to launch new SUVs in the near future. Here is our list of three upcoming Jeep SUVs in India.
Facelifted Jeep Compass
Expected Launch: July 2020
The Jeep Compass is expected to receive a facelift next year.
Once having had a sales number of 1,500 - 2,000 units per month, the Jeep Compass currently does even less than 1,000 units a month. Despite being offered with discounts of as much as INR 1.6 lakh on selected variants, the Jeep Compass’s sales number has been considerably decreased due to the severe competition in the Indian SUV segment from many new lower-priced vehicles such as the Kia Seltos, the MG Hector, the Tata Harrier, etc.
It is, therefore, high time for the Jeep Compass to get a facelift, which is scheduled to transpire in 2020. The new version is expected to see some minor alterations in terms of exterior and interior design. The biggest noteworthy change will be the inclusion of a 9-speed AT unit on the lower-spec diesel variants. The Jeep Compass facelift is going to be priced at the same level as the current model.

Sub-four-meter compact Jeep SUV
Expected Launch: End of 2020
A new Jeep sub-four-metre compact SUV is going to be launched by late 2020.
Indian market is currently obsessing over small SUVs, which is why Jeep also intends to introduce a sub-four-metre SUV to the market to compete against the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Hyundai Venue. It could be the first-ever sub-four metre SUV to come with an AWD system (available on the top-end variant). The Jeep sub-compact SUV is likely to get a butch design, a turbo-petrol engine, and manual as well as automatic transmission units. Since the SUV will be launched by the end of 2020, when the more stringent BS-VI emission standards will have come into effect, the diesel mill might be absent from its engine options.

7-seater Jeep Compass
Expected Launch: 2021
The Jeep Compass is anticipated to receive a 7-seater version in 2021
The American auto manufacturer is also developing a 7-seater version of the Jeep Compass which will, of course, get an additional row of seats at the back. Expected to be sold as a completely different SUV, the vehicle is likely to be more expensive than the normal Compass by a few lakhs. With a view to keeping the cost as low as possible, the new 7-seat Jeep Compass will borrow the platform as well as the powertrains from the 5-seater version. Expected to be launched in 2021, the 7-seat Compass will be a more affordable alternative to the Skoda Kodiaq, which has recorded considerable success in India.
