The 2020 Mahindra Thar has proven to be an instant success, and it currently has a super-long waiting period. But if you don't want to wait, then this barely used example may interest you. Read more about it here.
The Mahindra Thar has been one of the most successful new launches in the last couple of years in the Indian auto market. The second-generation model of the beloved 4x4 launched after a decade its predecessor went on sale. Its forebearer gained legendary status among the off-roading community. The new one intends to be just as good as the old one, but also has much better on-road manners and now gets the latest creature comforts and features. Within the first 6 months of launch, it has over 30,000 bookings with waiting periods stretching well into the summer. Currently, you can’t even book one as Mahindra has stopped accepting orders. Today we came across this barely used 2020 Mahindra Thar that’s up for sale in Punjab.
The video has been uploaded by Dayakaran Vlogs on YouTube, in which we can see this almost-brand new Mahindra Thar for sale. It is an LX variant with the convertible soft-top and is finished in black instead of red which has been the most common colour choice. This Thar was delivered to its first owner in December 2020, and it also comes with a few extra accessories. OEM extras include the chrome garnish kit for the door handles and the rear taillights, and roof-mounted audio speakers inside. Aftermarket additions include leather seat covers, a new set of bumper-mounted fog lamps and 20-inch 5-spoke silver-finished alloy wheels. Though the number plate hasn’t been shown in the video, the owner has paid extra for a VIP number as well. This Thar came in at around Rs 15.5 lakh on-road and has an additional Rs 2-2.5 lakhs of accessories fitted to it. If you’re interested in skipping the waiting period for a brand-new Thar, then you can contact Singh Car Bazar online on Facebook/Instagram, or contact them at 7083100001/8303100001. Their used car showroom is situated in Jalandhar, Punjab.
The all-new Mahindra Thar comes with 2 engine options, a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol. The oil-burner makes 130 PS of peak power and 300 Nm of max torque, while the petrol unit makes 150 PS and 320 Nm of rated output. You get two transmission options for both the powertrains - 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic with a low range box. You also get a transfer case and a mechanically-locking rear differential for pukka off-roading. It also gets brake-locking front axles. Prices for the Mahindra Thar range between Rs 12.10 lakh – Rs 14.15 lakh, ex-showroom.
