Back in 2013, the American carmaker Ford launched its first-ever sub-4-meter SUV in the Indian market named - EcoSport. Afterwards, the competition in the sub-compact SUV segment got quite fierce. But, till now it is the most capable and value for money SUVs in its stable. In our market, it rivals against the likes of Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza and much more. Here’s a recent video, which consists of several clips that shows the capabilities of the Ford SUV in tricky situations.

This video has been uploaded by a YouTube channel named India Sonic. The Ford EcoSport is known for its aggressive looks, feature-loaded cabin, reliable powertrain options and 200mm of ground clearance. The video shows how the ground clearance of the car helps to counter tricky situations. The video consists of clips that show the Ford SUV effortlessly going via an off-road patch with deep ditches. It also shows the water wading capabilities of the car, which are quite impressive. Moreover, the Youtuber has also added a small drag of Ford EcoSport against Kia Sonet. It shows how easily, the Ford EcoSport defeats the Kia SUV in a drag race. Moreover, the video shows clips of EcoSport being driven on muddy, snowy and slushy surfaces.

This clearly explains that the Ford EcoSport is one of the most capable sub-4-meter SUVs offered in the Indian market. The end clip in this video shows a drag race between the Ford SUV and Mahindra Scorpio. The race was quite aggressive, but the EcoSport won the race by a slight margin. Talking about Ford EcoSport, it derives power from a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel unit. The former develops 121 Bhp of power and 149 Nm of torque, while the latter is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 99 Bhp and 215 Nm, respectively. The petrol mill comes paired with a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, while the diesel engine comes mated to a 5-speed MT.
