Do you want to bring your furry friends with you on the road but you are afraid that they may cause troubles for you during the drive? Worry not. You can keep your pet safe and your vehicle clean and tidy by using some simple accessories.

Cars are designed for human so travelling with your beloved furry friends in cars may be quite a challenge when it comes to hygiene, safety, and comfort. So if you are a pet owner and want to go on a road trip with your four-legged friend or simply just want to take him or her to the vet, there are some accessories and features that can keep both you and your pet happy and safe on the road.

1. Backseat air conditioning

One of the major obstacles when travelling with a pet, especially a dog, is to keep him/her cool in summertime and warm in winter time. The easiest way to solve this problem is to have a car with climate control for the back seats. By the way, it is highly recommended that you leave your pet on the back seat as you do not want him/her to disturb you while driving. In case your car does not have air conditioning for the rear seats, you can create a small cool area for your pet with some items that are easy to find. If it is a hot summer day, you can put some sunshades on the window where your pet is near, and arrange some cooling pads around him/her. If it is a cold winter day, you can close the car window to avoid wind blowing in and put heating pads around your pet to keep him/her warm.

Pet ramp may sound like some fancy stuff you would see on the television in which a butler wearing white gloves bends over to open the car door, a fancy lady shows her stilettos then elegantly walks out of her car, and following her is her pooch who is of no less elegance steps down the pet ramp. The truth is pet ramp is not at that level of glamour, well unless you can afford it and want to, of course. Pet ramp is very important for the huge dog that cannot be lifted up to get into the car or the one that is too little to jump in the car with high ground clearance. You may say that you can lift your tiny pet up and put him/her in the car anytime you want, but in that case, you may have to deal with a reluctant pet yourself, and just like how you treat kids, you do not want to spoil them too much.

3. Pet-proof seat cover

One of the greatest sources of annoyance when a pet travels in the car is that his/her hair sticks to everywhere the furry friend reaches, and we all know how much of a pain it is to clean the hair. There is one simple solution to the issue, that is to cover your seat, and you should find the one that is specifically targeted towards pet because it is much easier to wash and get rid of the hair. There are some covers that you can simply shake to discard all the hair, while some you have to wash to clean them up. A lot of pet-proof seat covers are available on the market in all colours, sizes, and shapes, and you can freely choose one or more than one for backups depending on your own needs and habits.
