2020 Jaguar XE (Facelift) Launched At Rs 44.98 Lakh

Jaguar has finally launched the facelifted XE sedan in India, at the starting price of Rs. 44.98 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Debuted globally in February 2019, the 2020 Jaguar XE facelift gets a host of styling tweaks inside-out to make it fresh in the eyes of the modern Indian buyers, as well as to stay competitive against newer rivals like Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series.

As compared to the outgoing model, the new XE sedan comes with a revised styling inspired by the F-Type sports car and the pure-electric I-Pace SUV siblings. It gets sleeker LED-headlamps along with J-Blade daytime running lamps that complement the reworked front bumper, which gives the car a more confident look. The rear end of the car also features a new bumper, a revamped diffuser and updated Hi-line taillights with dynamic turn indicators. The refreshed XE sedan’s 17-inch alloy wheels sport a new design as well.

The updates are a lot more extensive inside the cabin of the Jaguar XE facelift. As soon as you step inside, you’ll notice a completely new dashboard layout which looks way more sophisticated. A larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system combined with an additional touchscreen for climate control dominates the dash while the fully-digital instrument cluster (for top-spec SE variant) gives the sedan a more upmarket appeal.

Even the old rotary gear knob has been removed, replaced by a more conventional unit. Other highlights on the interior of the new Jaguar XE include a ‘Remote’ with InControl remote smartphone app, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless charging, connected navigation, air-quality sensor, Wi-Fi hotspot among others. The overall quality has been enhanced too, with high-quality soft plastic in presence.

Mechanically, the 2020 Jaguar XE facelift still runs on the same set of engines, albeit in BSVI form. It gets the power from either a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine making 250 PS and 365 Nm of torque or a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel motor good for 180 PS and 430 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic torque converter.
