The Kia Sonet recently made its world debut in India and is slated for launch next month. Recently, variant, colour and specification details of the new model surfaced online

It has by now become quite clear that the Kia Sonet will be available in two trims: Tech Line and GT Line. Also, multiple motor-transmission options will be offered. The new model will borrow engines and powertrains from the Hyundai Venue. Accordingly, the motor options of the Kia Sonet will include a 1.2-litre gasoline burner, a 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo petrol motor and a 1.5-litre turbo oil unit. Additionally, the compact SUV will even get the more powerful version of the 1.5-litre diesel motor, which is currently used in the Seltos

Five transmission options will be available including a 5-speed MT, a 6-speed MT, an iMT, a torque converter AT, and a dual-clutch automatic transmission. The iMT, a clutchless manual transmission, has recently been introduced on the Hyundai Venue. Although the Sonet shares the engine and transmission options with the Hyundai Venue, there is a slight difference in the fuel mileage figures of the two vehicles.
