The all-new Mahindra Thar will be launched on October 2, 2020, and will be sold in AX and LX trims. It will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options, along with manual and automatic transmission choices

Mahindra & Mahindra has recently revealed the new-gen Thar in the Indian market. The all-new model is slated to launch on 2nd October 2020. The 2020 Thar will be offered in six colour shade options along with three factory fitted roof options, which are soft top, convertible and hardtop. The soft top option was also given with the previous-gen model of the SUV. The convertible soft top and hardtop roof option will be given with the off-roader for the very first time. The entry-level trim of the 2020 Mahindra Thar will be offered with soft top options. On the other hand, the convertible and hardtop options will be given with the AX and LX trims. Nevertheless, the powertrain options will be different in both the trims.

The automaker has revealed the trim wise colour options of the 2020 Mahindra Thar. The new-gen Mahindra SUV will be offered in three distinctive trims. Moreover, different roof options will be given with each of its trims. Mechanically, it will derive power from a petrol and diesel engine. Both the engines will come mated to a manual and automatic transmission. The new-gen Mahindra Thar will be offered with six different colour shade options namely- Mystic Copper, Aqua Marine, Napoli Black, Rocky Beige, Red Rage and Galaxy Grey.

Inside, the 2020 Thar comes loaded with features like a 12-volt accessory socket, remote keyless entry, front power window, cruise control and roof-mounted speakers. It also sports a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with latest connectivity techs, removal doors and a four-wheel-drive option with mechanical locking differential as standard. The SUV will get 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine. The former will produce 150bhp of power and 300 Nm of peak torque, while the latter develops power and torque outputs of 130 PS and 300. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The SUV is expected to be priced between 10 to 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
