Second-gen Maruti Ertiga Sales Crossed 70,000 Milestone

Sales of the second-gen Maruti Ertiga have crossed over 70,000 units. The Maruti Ertiga outperforms other rivals to become the best-selling MPV in India.

The recently-launched Maruti Ertiga has been a roaring success for India’s leading auto manufacturer has witnessed the total sales number of 70,000 units since its launch in November 2018. The 2018 Maruti Ertiga is selling with an average of more than 8,300 units on a monthly basis.

Maruti Suzuki has celebrated 70,000 sales units of the second-gen Ertiga in India.

Back in 2012, the first-gen Maruti Ertiga which is developed on the Maruti Ritz’s platform made its first entry into the Indian market. Being quite popular in the domestic space, the first version of the Ertiga has clocked a total sales number of 4.2 Lakh units in six years and a half. On November 21, 2018, the Maruti Ertiga came in the second- in India at the starting price of Rs 7.44 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In its second-gen avatar, the new Maruti Ertiga saves for the wheelbase of 2,740 mm but gets an increase for other dimensions. Specifically, the new MPV measures 4,395 mm in length, 1,735 mm in height, 1,690 mm in width, which make it 99 mm longer, 5 mm higher and 40 mm wider than the first-gen model. The Maruti Ertiga offers 209 litres of the boot space that can be expanded up to 803 litres.

Mechanically, the second-gen Maruti Ertiga comes with a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine combined with a dual-battery mild-hybrid system under the hood. There’s also a 1.3-litre D13A diesel mill featuring a single-battery mild-hybrid tech. In April 2019, Maruti Suzuki expanded the Ertiga’s lineup by introducing a newly-developed 1.5-litre E15A diesel engine in the list of options. In July, the CNG variant of the Ertiga’s K15B engine was brought on sans the mild-hybrid tech while the D13A diesel engine was phased out. Just a couple of days ago, the BSVI-compliant K15B gasoline engine of the Ertiga was released. The 1.5-litre E15A diesel burner will be discontinued by March 2020 as well.

Currently, the second-gen Maruti Ertiga is positioned at the price ranging from Rs 7.54 – 11.20 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In the coming months, a six-seat version of the Ertiga christened as Maruti XL6 will be launched in the country.
