Tata 45X To Arrive In Mid-2019 - Confirmed By Tata’s CEO

At the launch event of the Tata Harrier, Guenter Butschek’s CEO and Managing Director confirmed that their next SUV, the Tata 45X will kick off in some six months, saying “Today it was the Harrier, in some six months, it’s gonna be the first architecture-leading product on the Alfa architecture.” He also revealed that the golden colour pain featured on the concept car would also be included on the official colour palette for the Indian market.

Tata 45X is recently on testing under its production form in India roads. From the spy images, it could be noticed that the Tata 45X continues to sport the same design languages seen on Tata Harrier. Just like what is shown on the 45X Concept, the looks on the production form is made to impress with sleek headlights and rear tail lights.

On the mechanic front, the Tata 45X is underpinned by a new ‘Advanced Modular Platform’. Under the hood, it is suspected that Tata 45X will receive power from a newly-developed 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol motor coupled with an optional twin-clutch automatic gearbox. On diesel variant, the old 1.5-litre diesel mill on the Tata Nexon might be brought forward to feature on the 45X. Other than that, the hatchback will be the first model to get a mild-hybrid system which will be offered as an optional option.

After arriving at the market, the 45X will compete with Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz in the Indian market. The price bracket is expected to range from 6 lakh to 7 lakh.
