The MG Hector has been officially revealed in India along with the features it will be equipped with. MG’s first vehicle for the Indian auto market is packed with a wide array of features, among which there are some segment-first ones. Considering the fierce competition in the SUV segment from many rivals like the affordable Tata Harier, the practical Mahindra XUV500, and the well-equipped Jeep Compass, the MG Hector’s unique features should help it attract some customers. Now, let’s come to the list of 10 segment-leading features which will be offered on the upcoming SUV.
The MG Hector will be well-equipped with a wide range of segment-first features.
Front and rear LED lighting integrated with dynamic indicators
The MG Hector is the first-ever car in the segment to come with LED headlights in the front as well as LED fog lights and LED taillights in the rear. Even the turn indicators integrated with the outside rearview mirrors are LED units. The headlights feature a split-headlight layout, which means that grille is flanked by the LED DRLS and the main headlights are positioned on the pumper. The number of the LED DRLs has also been doubled to serve as dynamic indicators. A light bar runs across the boot and connects the taillight units.
Front parking sensors
Almost all cars today are equipped with rear parking sensors as a method to adhere to the forthcoming safety standards. To make the parking job of the large SUV much simpler, the Hector also comes with front parking sensors, which have yet to be offered by any of its rivals.
MG Motors have the ORVMs on the Hector heated, thanks to which, the visibility in the rainy and cold weather is enhanced. The ORVMs can also be electronically folded and adjusted.
The MG Hector gets a quite large powered tailgate which can be opened and closed easily by pressing a button. Do not mistake it for a hands-free tailgate, which can be automatically controlled as long as the key is within a particular distance from the tailgate.

Internet connectivity with OTA updates
Once launched, the Hector will be the first SUV to come with inbuilt Internet connectivity through a SIM card with more than 50 features. Moreover, now Gofencing, which will send a warning whenever the car leaves the area preset by the driver is also available on this SUV. The Hector is also equipped with a mobile application via which some basic functions like the air conditioner, the door and the sunroof can be remotely controlled.

It is claimed by MG Motors that this technology will help the fuel mileage increase by 12% and the emission reduce by 11% in comparison with the regular petrol variant.
