Kia Seltos (5-star NCAP) Turns Over After Driver Loses Control, None Injured

Here are a few images of a Kia Seltos, which turned turtle after the driver lost control over the vehicle. However, all thanks to the high safety offered by the SUV, all occupants escaped unhurt

Korean automaker Kia introduced the Seltos in the Indian market last year. It is one of the most feature-loaded SUVs in its segment. It rivals with the likes of Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Creta. The top-spec trims of the SUV employs a lot of safety features, like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree view camera and Blind View Monitor. All this, along with the decent build quality, ensures a high safety in terms of an accident. For example, here are a few images of a Kia Seltos which turned turtle when its deiver lost control over the speeding SUV.

This accident happened in Punjab during night time. The speed of the SUV was definitely higher than the city limits. The driver was not able to control this much speed and crashed into a divider. Due to high speed, the SUV went upside down. The driver of this Kia Seltos managed to escape the car with just a few scratches, but the impact of this accident was quite severe as the front bumper, grille, roof and bonnet got damaged. Moreover, the left side alloy wheel has also got bent. One can also see that the front airbags of the SUV have also got deployed.

There was no direct damage on the side door of the SUV that’s why the side airbags have not opened up. Furthermore, all three pillars of the SUV ar intact. The powertrain of the SUV has also got damage. After a few repairs, however, the SUV can become good again. This is the HTX+ trim of the SUV, which gets 6 airbags, front and reverse parking camera. The high-end safety features are also offered with GTX and GTX+ variants.

In June this year, Kia updated the Seltos with 10 new features - emergency stop signal, smart-key remote engine start, front and rear USB charging ports and much more. Moreover, the company’s AI-based voice recognition system is now offered with the new ‘Hello Kia’ wake up command, while the UVO connected car system now supports the smartwatch app and also controls the air purifier. The automaker has also discontinued GTK and GTX DCT trims from the model lineup.
