Renault Kiger VS Nissan Magnite Comparison

Here’s a small comparison between Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. Both SUVs are power by a 1.0-litre NA and turbocharged petrol motor.

Renault has finally revealed its all-new sub-4-meter SUV Kiger in the Indian market. It is expected to hit the Indian shores in March, nevertheless, the carmaker has yet to make an announcement on that. The official bookings of Kiger are expected to commence in February. The all-new Renault Kiger is likely to be priced between Rs 5.80 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rival with the likes of Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite are based on company’s CMF-A modular platform.

This is the same platform which underpins Renault Triber. Moreover, both SUVs are also mechanically the same. They get propelled by a 1.0-litre NA and turbo petrol mill. The former develops 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque, while the latter is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 99bhp and 160 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed MT or a CVT. Both SUVs look completely different from each other. The Kiger looks bigger as compared than Kwid and has an aggressive design language.

The Renault SUV has a more crossover-ish design, while the Nissan Magnite has a boxy look. The Renault Kiger gets a winged grille upfront with two horizontal slats with split headlamps along with LED DRLs positioned below the bumper. It gets squared wheel arches, two-tone bumper, split-taillights and blacked-out cladding. The SUV also features a sloping rear-glass, unique looking C-pillar and a roof-integrated spoiler. On the other hand, Nissan Magnite employs Datusun-like grille with chrome inserts, sculpted bumper, sharp headlights, faux skid plates, aggressive-looking bumper with fog lamp housing.

The rear and side profile of the car gets squared-off wheel arches, roof-integrated spoiler, wrap-around tail-lamps and dual-tone lower bumper.  Inside, Renault Kiger comes loaded with features like a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest phone connectivity options, air purifier, automatic climate control, cruise control, dual glove box, fully digital instrument console, 3D sound system by Arkmays with 8 speakers.

On the other hand, Nissan Magnite comes loaded with features like a touchscreen instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, gear lever, JBL speakers, handbrake, cruise control, steering mounted control and so on. In terms of dimensions, the Renault SUV is 3991 mm long, 1750mm tall, 1600mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2500mm. It is 3mm shorter, 8mm less wide as compared to Nissan Magnite. Nevertheless, Renault Kiger is 28mm taller than Magnite.
