In a bid to find out examples of such body kits which look crazy, we came across two body kits for the Suzuki Jimny from a Japanese tuner – DAMD. These kits are designed to help the Jimny in looking like a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon or a Land Rover Defender, depending upon the kit you choose to settle with. In its stock iteration, the Jimny has an uncanny resemblance to both G-Wagon and Defender. DAMD has named these kits as Little G and Little D.
Starting with the Little G first, as the name suggests, it helps the Jimny in adopting the design cues of Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The kit comprises of new bumpers, bigger alloy wheels, redesigned side steps, wheel claddings, spare wheel cover, tail lamps, and a chrome-plated shoulder line. All of these elements are inspired by the G-Wagon. Moving over to the Little D, it continues to do with the OEM wheel arches but gets different bumpers, bonnet, radiator grille, headlamps, tail lamps, steel rims and mud flaps. Suzuki Jimny is likely to be introduced in the Indian market by sometime next year. Suzuki’s Indian subsidiary – Maruti Suzuki has started testing the vehicle on the Indian tarmac. Also, trial production of the car has been successfully performed. Powering the Jimny is a 1500 cc petrol engine that belts out 105 PS and 138 Nm of max output. It can be had mated to either a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed AT. Also, it gets a 4x4 transfer case with a low-range gearbox that sends power to the solid axles at both the ends. While the Jimny misses out differential lockers, it comes with an intelligent 4X4 system that can brake each wheel individually. Therefore, power is sent to the wheels with the most amount of traction.
